Taxation affects the day to day life of companies and individuals; it is an unavoidable part of any strategic decision.
The “Tax Law” department advises its clients to optimise the tax planning of their everyday or one-off transaction. The department also deals with the tax authorities and offers representation in administrative and civil courts in the event of tax disputes.
The department offers the following services: • Advice on:
- everyday tax questions relating to corporate taxation (corporate tax, VAT, community charges), - setting up and follow-through of tax grouping, - mergers & acquisitions, company restructuring and reorganisation, - carrying out of preventive audits or purchase audits, - the management and transfer of the assets of private individuals (wealth tax, donation fees, death duties, property investments, etc.), - compliance with tax regulations, - international mobility, - analysis and implementation of tax exemption plans, - setting up of incentive schemes for managers and employees (stock-options, “management package”), - transfer pricing policies, - taxation of local authorities and public bodies (FCTVA in particular), - establishment of French companies abroad and foreign investments in France, - requests for tax approvals and rulings, - optimisation of tax credits (including research tax credit), - tax optimisation of transnational flows.
• Pre-litigation: - advice on tax inspections, - negotiations and dealings with the tax authorities.
• Litigation:
- preparation and drafting of legal documents required in court cases, - representation before any administrative or civil court, - disputed tax assessments.

The department works in close cooperation with the firm’s other departments, in particular the “Company Law – Mergers & Acquisitions” department.
The team works in several languages on international cases, if necessary with the help of foreign correspondents.
